Instructure Canvas Faculty Training Schedule
NMSU and DACC will be moving to Instructure Canvas 2012. Canvas provides many new features and enhancements that improve content delivery and ease of design. These improvements will enable faculty and students to focus more on course content and reduce time spent on mastering technology.
In preparation for the new implementation, the Virtual Learning and Instructional Technology Department will offer a series of training sessions for Canvas.
Introduction to Canvas:This 2-hour workshop is designed to provide an introduction to the Canvas interface. Participants will be shown the basic navigation of the Canvas interface, Blackboard to Canvas conversion chart, new features of the Canvas system, and where to access the Canvas self-help resources.
If you are currently Blackboard Certified after this training you will be Canvas Certified.
If you take this training session and are currently not Blackboard certified you will need to take a more detailed Canvas training in the future.
Canvas Lab: This two-hour lab is intended to help online instructors get their Canvas courses ready for the new semester. Examples of support include showing instructors how to copying courses over to a new course; request a merge of courses, make courses viewable to students.
We suggest you take this session after you have attended the Introdution to Canvas Training.
Our goal is to provide a flexible schedule to accommodate all faculty. Any department wishing to setup a special training session is encouraged to call VLIT at the number below. We will make every effort to accommodate your request.
Training is held in the VLIT
