Lamaia Vaughn - Assistant Professor

lamaia vaughn

Creative Media Technology

Lamaia Vaughn claims writing as her first craft and is a published poet. She also loves photography and fine letter press printing. Having grown up among artists along the Mexican/United States border, she understands what it is to search for one’s cultural identity in the media.  Her father was a painter, her mother a writer.  Seeking to express herself in images, Lamaia studied creative writing and later went on to receive her M.F.A. in Film and Video production from the University of Southern California.

Lamaia is an Assistant Professor of Creative Media. She teaches writing, digital film and audio production, and post production for DACC’s Creative Media Technology, supports the Film Technician Training Program and is the advisor to the CMT student club GAMA POPS.
