Compass Test

The Computer-Adaptive Placement Assessment test and Support System (COMPASS) is a computer software package developed by American College Testing(ACT).This software is used to place students into appropriate math, reading, and writing classes. 

Who takes the COMPASS Test?
Incoming freshman who have not taken an ACT or SAT in the past year.
Transfer Students who did not take math or English courses at the college they previously attended or who did not take an ACT or SAT in the past year.

How long is the test?
The test in not timed, therefore, plan to take your time on the test because there are no re-takes allowed
Average test time is one and a half to two hours

How much does the test cost?

There is no cost to take the test.

This is not a pass or fail test, it's a placement test. However, we do stress that you take it seriously.
The higher a student places in the test, the less you spend on tuition and time.

Graphing Calculator
You can choose to bring you own calculator or  use the one provided on the computer

What are the testing hours?
Testing is offered Monday through Friday at 8:30 a.m.,10:30 a.m., or 1:30 p.m.
An appointment is needed due to the number of computers available for testing.
If you are unable to keep your appointment or need to schedule your test at a different time than offered, please call 527-7569 or 527-7710 to reschedule or cancel.
