DACC Philosophy of General Education

DACC values creative, flexible thinking and the ability to appreciate and respect diverse viewpoints.  General Education at DACC provides a broad foundation of knowledge, preparing students for an ever-changing global society.  Students in career-technical fields and those transferring to four-year institutions learn and develop skills that transcend disciplines.  Students will be able to:

1. communicate effectively

2. identify ethical behavior

3. apply numerical information appropriately

4. problem solve effectively

5. demonstrate appropriate technical skills

Announcements

1. Deadline for submitting assessment reports for Fall 2006 semester is February 5, 2007.  Submit to Susan Wood, DACC Assessment Coordinator.

2. Two Assessment Teas will be held during Spring 2007, one on March 8 and the second on April 12.  Both will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.  More information will be forthcoming.
