  • Students convicted of a misdemeanor or felony may be ineligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists national certification exam. Certification is required to work in this field. Full Disclosure of any ticket, citation, summons, arrest, charges or convictions for a misdemeanor or felony is required during the application process to the program.  Exceptions include traffic violations which did not involve drugs or alcohol. Individuals who have been charged or convicted of a misdemeanor or felony must preapply to the ARRT. It is up to the student to do this! Contact the Program Director for preapproval information well in advance of the program application deadline (April 1). Written preapproval may take up to 12 weeks to complete.   • Students must be a minimum age of 18 before the clinical training begins in the Fall semester.
  • Students who do not pass requested drug screens or background checks (required by the program or the clinical affiliates) will be dismissed and/or excluded from the program.
  • A DWI conviction may affect a student's ability to be allowed in some hospitals and clinic sites.
  • Radiologic Technology Students must demonstrate proficiency in speaking, writing, and comprehending college-level English.
  • It is recommended that the female student avoid pregnancy while enrolled in the program for the safety of the unborn child. Pregnancy disclosure is strictly voluntary; however it is recommended that the student inform the program director. (Program requirements must be met regardless of pregnancy).

    100-92=A

    91-83=B

    82-74=C

    73-65=D

    64-0=F

    *Radiologic Technology Majors MUST earn a "C" or better in all RADT courses to receive credit for graduation. Course failure (D or F) in any class will result in dismissal from the program. The student may apply for readmission follow the readmission policy guidelines stated in III-G of the DACC Radiologic Technology Program Student Handbook. (See under Related Links).

  • All Students are required to carry current health insurance for the duration of the program. Costs vary greatly. Students may qualify to remain on their parents insurance, NMSU offers student insurance, or you may find a good deal privately as well.
