May Someone Else Register for Me?     Top of Page

Yes, someone else  may register for you.  If you are a new or returning student, you will need to provide your proxy with a completed admissions application and a course request card listing your first and alternate choices.  If you are a continuing student, you will need to provide your proxy with a completed course request card.  Include payment of fees.

Will I Get the Classes I Want?     Top of Page

Please review your registration document immediately.  If you find any errors in the class title, class time, room and building numbers, or credits listed, please report the errors to the Registration Area, Room 115.

You may make changes to your schedule after registration/down payment is complete up until the appropriate deadline.  Check the Schedule of Classes for dates on deadlines.

What Happens If I Need to WITHDRAW from all classes?     Top of Page

If you need to completely withdraw from school and all courses are  DABCC courses, you may withdraw at the DABCC Registration Area, Room 115.  If you have any NMSU courses, contact the NMSU Registrar's Office, Suite R, in the Educational Services Building.   If you stop attending classes but do not officially withdraw, you may receive failing grades for all courses in which you are registered.  Additionally, you will be liable for all tuition and fees.

Will I get a REFUND If I have to withdraw from classes?     Top of Page

Depending on when you withdraw, you may be eligible for a refund.  Check the Schedule of Classes to determine how much you may be eligible to receive.  Percentages are based upon the total charges for the semester and not upon the amount you have paid.

No refunds are made on classes of less than six weeks' duration.  In cases of academic or disciplinary suspension, eligibility for refunds will be individually determined.

A special refund schedule is available to first-time DABCC/NMSU students withdrawing from the university.  Contact the DABCC Cashiers or the NMSU Business Office for the refund schedule.

May I REPEAT a Class?     Top of Page

Yes.  Students are encouraged to take advantage of the repeat option to raise their grade-point average if a D or F grade is earned in a course numbered below 300.  A computable grade (not I, W, RR, AU, S or U)  will be substituted in the calculation of the grade-point average, although the original grade also remains on the transcript.  RR can only be earned in RR-applicable skill-development, undergraduate courses (see DABCC Catalog).  NOTE:  For Financial Aid restrictions, contact your Financial Aid Advisor.

When registering for a repeat course, check the "repeat" box on the course request card.  You are allowed a maximum of 30 credits of grade substitution.

Do I Have to ATTEND class?     Top of Page

Yes. If you are to truly benefit from your education, you need to get involved in the learning process by attending class regularly.  Furthermore, most teachers include attendance as a part of your grade.  Therefore, plan to attend every class meeting.  If you absolutely must miss a class, however, you can reduce your losses by notifying the instructor ahead of time, and finding out if it will be possible to make up any of the work.
