Certification
The Dental Assistant program at DACC is nationally accredited by
the American Dental Association, Commission on Dental Program
Accreditation. It is also recognized by the New Mexico State Board
of Dentistry as a continuing-education provider.
Curriculum & Classes Required
The following classes are pre-requisites for the program and it is recommended they be completed before application to the program:
ENG 111G Rhetoric and Composition
OECS 101 Computer Basics OR
OECS 105 Introduction to Microcomputers OR
C S 110 Computer Science
(English and Computer classes must be completed with a "C" or better in order for application to qualify. Other classes can be incourse of the program, or after program core classes are compleded.)
OEHO 101 Communication in Health Care OR
COMM 253G Public Speaking OR
COMM 265G Principles of Human Communication
PSY 201 G Introduction to Psychology
OEHO 225 Nutrition for Health Care OR
HNFS 163 Nutrition for Health

Preference will be given to students who have successfully completed DAS 101, DAS 131 & DAS 133.
