Emergency Medical Services
Porfessionals in Emergency Medical Services often save lives. Jump start your career at DACC, your future awaits you!

Do you have a vocational call to work in the fileds of health and public services? If so, you are taking the right steps. All of our programs at DACC are fully accreditated. We invite you to explore and inquire about them.Welcome to Division of Health & Public Service. Eight departments offer a total of 15 associate degrees and certificates.

The three types of programs in this division include:

  • Health (Nursing and allied health),
  • Protective Services (Fire Science and Law Enforcement)
  • Education

HEALTH

Health careers are both exciting and rewarding. There are consistent predictions for significant growth in the healthcare workforce over the next decade and beyond. Workforce shortages in nursing as well as most allied health fields offer many job opportunities to graduates of these programs. Six programs are nationally accredited.

Associate degrees are offered in Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care, EMS Paramedic, Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Public Health. Certificates can be earned in Health Care Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Practical Nursing, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Dental Assisting and Emergency Medical Services.

EDUCATION

A good education is founded on good teaching. This area provides the foundation for a career in education. Three associate degrees are offered:

  • Education Associates
  • Early Childhood Education Associates
  • Educational Paraprofessional Associates

 

PROTECTIVE SERVICES

Protective Service careers are vital to the safety and well-being of our community. New options are being added to both the Fire Science and Law Enforcement programs. In addition, the Fire Science Program is one of only seven accredited programs in the nation.

Associate degrees offered include Fire Science Technology, Law Enforcement, Corrections and Criminal Justice.
