Hatch – Doña Ana Community College (DACC) in Hatch will host a health and education fair on Saturday March 8 from 9 a.m. to noon. The fair will feature health screenings, children’s activities, health insurance information, fire safety, dental demonstrations, prizes, and food. The Hatch Center is located at 210 East Hill Street. John Walker serves as the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at DACC and is excited to be hosting the event. “We are part of this community and want to let everyone know about DACC’s center in Hatch,” he said. “Not only will there be activities, food and prizes, but also information on health and public services programs at DACC.” Information will be provided on dental assistant, dental hygienist, health care assistant, emergency medical services, fire science, pharmacy technician, and veterinary technician programs. “Graduates from our programs and certificate options are highly sought after by businesses in and around Doña Ana County,” Walker added. “A special thank you goes to Wienerschnitzel for providing the food.” The Hatch Learning Center opened in 2012 and serves not only Hatch, but surrounding communities as well. DACC operates eight locations throughout Dona Ana County including Hatch, East Mesa, Central Campus, Mesquite Neighborhood Learning Center, Gadsden, Sunland Park, Workforce Development Center, and Chaparral. DACC is the fourth largest institution of post-secondary education in the State of New Mexico.
