CCDE 105N. Effective Communication Skills

Instruction and practice in basic communication, to include written and oral presentations. Develop thinking, writing, speaking, reading, and listening skills necessary for successful entry to college and university classes. Provides laboratory and individualized instruction. RR applicable

CCDE 110N. General Composition  
4 credits 
 
Instruction and practice in preparation for college-level writing. Students will develop and write short essays. Provides laboratory and individualized instruction. RR applicable. 

CCDL 101N. Basic Skills in English as a Second Language I  
4 credits

A developmental studies course for ESL students. Development of basic skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing English as a second language with emphasis on speaking and listening. Pronunciation is stressed. Course intended for U.S. citizens and residents who are non-native speakers of English. Prerequisite: English language screening or consent of instructor. Graded S/U. 

CCDL 103N. Basic Skills in English as a Second Language II  
4 credits

Continuation of CCDL 101N for ESL students. Course intended for U.S. citizens and residents who are non-native speakers of English. Prerequisite: English language screening or CCDL 101N or consent of instructor. Graded S/U

CCDL 105N. Intermediate Skills in English I  
4 credits 

Intermediate level with emphasis on reading and writing. Grammar and syntax are stressed. Course intended for U.S. citizens and residents who are non-native speakers of English. Prerequisite: English language screening or CCDL 103N or consent of instructor. Graded S/U.

CCDL 107N. Intermediate Skills in English II 
4 credits

Continuation of CCDL 105N.  Course intended for U.S. citizens and residents who are non-native speakers of English. Prerequisite: English language screening or CCDL 105N or consent of instructor. Graded S/U.

ENGL 111G. Rhetoric and Composition
4 credits

Skills and methods used in writing university-level essays.  Prerequisite: ACT standard score in English of 16 or higher or successful completion of CCDE 110N or the equivalent.
