How do I register for On-Line courses?

The enrollment procedures for On-Line and traditional classroom courses are the same.  You need to apply for admissions, identify an academic program that best fits your needs and consult with advising for the best path to fulfill your educational career goals.

Enrolled students should be ready for On-Line learning.  Students should review their degree plan and periodically check the academic calendar for important dates.  Registering for On-Line courses is the same as for any other class.  On-Line courses do fill up quickly and there is a limited number of "seats" so register early.

Once you have registered for an On-Line course, acquire your books and any other material necessary for your courses. Double check your computer and internet connectivity to assure you have the adequate equipment and connectivity.  Two of the primary reasons students drop out of On-Line courses is that the technology didn’t work and student’s inexperience with computers. Run the Browser Tune-up  and in stall Plug-ins from the computer you will be working from.

You will need to activate your myNMSU account to have access to the NMSU portal. The portal is where you can check e-mail, maintain your calendar, get campus updates and access WebCT. Finally take the WebCT tutorial from the computer you will be using for your On-Line courses and ensure content delivery and connectivity are acceptable. Check the WebCT FAQ for Frequently asked questions and additional information.
