Curriculum Information
The Hospitality Services Program prepares students for beginning
their careers in this dynamic and ever changing industry. The
curriculum is arranged to allow for completion of the degree in 4
semesters by taking approximately 15 credits each. If remedial or
extra courses are taken, of course it might take longer. Based on
our articulation agreement with the HRTM program at NMSU, all but
a very few credits transfer directly and make our program both
practical and cost effective.
Articulation (credit transfer)
Information
The Hospitality Services program works closely with Las Cruces
area high schools and with New Mexico State University's Hotel,
Restaurant, Tourism Management program to ensure that the greatest
amount of credit is awarded for work undertaken all the different
programs. A high school student has the capability of attaining 12
college credits prior to graduation by taking the articulated
courses and attending DABCC through the AVS (Area Vocational
School) program. Not only does this shorten the time to the A.A.S.
degree, but also offers a significant cost savings.
The courses required for the A.A.S. degree are almost all
transfered with full credit to NMSU's HRTM program. Check with an
advisor in the Hospitality Services program for details.
