The First Day of Class
It is very important that you attend the first day of class. You will meet your professor, who will outline the course and present the requirements of the class. Some professors may use the first day for introductions, while others may start teaching course material right away. Either way, it is important that you are there to get the information.
What to bring on the first day of class:
- Something to write with
- A notebook/tablet of paper to write on
- Your textbook (if you’ve already bought it)
- Your printed class schedule
During the first meeting of the class, the professor will hand out a syllabus. A syllabus is a written agreement between you and your professor on what is expected from you, and how you will be evaluated for a grade in the course. It's important to keep the syllabus and refer to it often for assignment deadlines and information. The first day of class is not too early to start studying. Manage your time wisely. Exams will be here before you know it.
