This flexible program is available for those who wish to tailor an
associate degree to their own specific needs. It allows students to
include courses from a variety of program areas. Please note: A student
who has previously earned an associate degree from DACC
or from any other institution is ineligible to receive an associate in
general studies degree.
Requirements for the associate in general studies degree are as follows:
- Complete a total of 66 credit hours (excludes noncredit courses, such as those with an “N” suffix);
- Complete
ENGL 111G ENGL 111G: Rhetoric and Composition - 4 cr.
Skills and methods used in writing university-level essays. Prerequisite: ACT standard score in English of 16 or higher during regular semester (20 or above during summer) or successful completion of a developmental writing course or the equivalent. with a C or better; - Achieve a 2.0 cumulative GPA; and
- Complete the last 15 hours at any DACC center or NMSU campus. Credits gained through CLEP or ACT, challenge credit, and/or credit from another college/university or correspondence school may not be used to fulfill this 15-hour requirement.
Under the SOCAD agreement, military personnel and their families are exempt from the requirements described in item 4 above.
